Why have a New Home Inspection?
After all, the home is new right? True but as a new home purchaser, you have some protection offered by Tarion New Home Warranty. Foundation & Up wants to make sure you have all the information about the possible defects in the new home through a New Home Inspection to make sure you know what benefits to which you are entitled.
Tarion –formerly known as the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act (ONHWP)- was created by the province of Ontario in 1976. Its primary purpose is to protect consumers of new homes by ensuring that builders abide by provincial legislation. Tarion licenses home builders in the province and ensures that they abide by this legislation, and that consumers are protected when builders fail to fulfill their warranty obligations.

Foundation & Up wants to help protect your investment by documenting any deficiencies your builder is responsible for during a Home Inspection so that the appropriate steps can be taken in a timely manner and that the work can be done under Tarion’s warranty period.
We offer an independent home inspection following InterNACHI Standards of Practice and our report will document the findings which can be used to ensure that deficiencies are corrected at the builder’s expense and NOT YOURS .
We recommend having your New Home Inspected within the first 30 days of taking possession and if appropriate approximately 11 months afterwards.
